Participate in our research

Volunteer for a 1-hour exercise session (“HyperChallenge protocol“) to help prevent hypertension.

We are recruiting volunteers with no history of cardiovascular disease of all ages and fitness levels.

Total duration: 120 minutes (including preparation)

Why it matters

Very little is known about how the cardiovascular system adapts to sustained muscle contraction in real time. Inflatable blood pressure monitors provide only intermittent readings and are not designed to take accurate measurements during movement.

Our novel device is not affected by movement and can provide BP readings during movement.

The goal of this experiment is to take readings of normally elevated blood pressure with two different devices.

Physical challenge and requirements

The experimental sequence is designed in a way that a person who exercises twice a week should be able to complete it easily. The intensity can be compared to a 1-hour beginner-level yoga class.

Pre-existing injuries and other limitations

If you wish to participate but have health-related concerns, for example, joint pain or pre-existing injuries, you can discuss them with the experimenter. Always choose to err on the side of caution when in doubt. You can review the exercise sequence here.
